Notarial deeds are drawn up in Polish. If a foreigner does not speak Polish, the participation of sworn translator is obligatory while performing a notarial act. What is essential, the translator is allowed to translate into a language that is known by the foreigner, but not necessary into his mother tongue. For example: if a Spanish citizen speaks English fluently but does not speak Polish the participation of English sworn translator is enough.
In accordance with a procedure prescribed by the law, the foreigners can purchase the premises situated on the territory of Republic of Poland. There is no need of any permit or authorization when a flat is bought. Depending on the situation, the Minister of Internal Affairs’ approval to buy a land property might be necessary.
